I cannot recommend Darren highly enough. He is the most meticulous and tidy builder I have ever used. In the hottest weather he sealed himself into to a polythene tent fixed carefully to the wall and ceiling of the living room to hack of damp plaster work and then fix the problem. There was no dust or mess in the house. He also sorted out some external brickwork sourcing bricks to match the 150 year old house. He turns up on time and is a pleasure to have in the house.

We found Darren through this website and couldn’t be happier with his work re-plastering our dining room. Darren gave us clear guidance and set realistic expectations from the start. He kept us informed about any issues that needed attention and made sure we understood every aspect of the project. He started with an initial visit to review the job and provide a quote. When he began the work, he took great care to protect our home by using plastic sheeting and floor mats. Darren was meticulous in keeping our space tidy. At the end of each day, he organized his tools and materials neatly, minimizing disruption to our daily life. He was polite, punctual, and transparent about his schedule. 10/10 service – we would definitely hire him again.

I found Darren in The Little Green Book, asked him to quote for the work, he did everything on time, was meticulously careful, protected his work fully from dust and mess in the rooms, made an excellent job of the whole damp proofing process, including refitting the skirting boards perfectly, and showed that he is a really skilled craftsman. I thoroughly recommend his services.

Darren was faced with increasingly complex issues. First was a leak from the pipe connecting the mains water to those throughout the house. The pipe was in what was originally the kitchen. This had been relocated to the integral garage. The room is now my home office. The leak affected two walls in the room , including that with the corridor and front lobby on the other side. The leak was fixed by our local plumber and the drying process commenced. That was achieved, but a check to see that all was well revealed further damp 6 feet away, hidden by a plasterboard wall panel. A second leak in the same pipe at floor level was fixed. The furniture in the room had to be relocated or moved upstairs - mainly Darren's efforts. The drying out process took much longer because part of the floor of the room had been affected. Not all of it dried. Yet further investigation with a pneumatic drill revealed a third leak 18" below floor level, due to faulty workmanship by the builder who undertook the conversion of the room. Everything had to be cleared to upstairs by Darren. (My wife and I are both 76 and have significant mobility issues that need two sticks each.) The drying out process took yet longer, but Darren kept in touch, visiting us from time to time when he was working in the area. When all was dry, he carried out skilled and impressive refurbishment, including painting and decorating the damaged room, the front lobby, the hall, the stairs and the landing. Due a dispute with agent managing the insurance claim, that was withdrawn and the job has been-self-funded. Darren sought our ideas and wishes, not those of the managing agent. As a second job, he has undertaken painting and decorating work that was nothing to do with the leaks. He is a friendly and engaging man who has also helped out a pair of OAPs with several small things for which we would otherwise have had to seek the assistance of neighbours. I can thoroughly recommend his services.

Darren replaced the damp proof course in our Victorian Cottage and did a tremendous job. He is a superb craftsman and an excellent businessman. Darren explained exactly what he would need to do, how long it would take, what we would need to do while the plaster was drying, and how much it would cost. The way that he protected the fireplace, etc. and used polythene sheets to minimise the spread of dust, was done with great consideration. He works in a very clean way and left our cottage (and all his tools) tidy every evening. The workmanship is very impressive and all done immaculately. When he replaced the skirting boards, the joints were perfection. His plasterwork was as smooth as silk. We cannot recommend him too highly.

Can't speak too highly of Darren - he came when he said, sorted out our problem over 3 days (which he had warned us it would take). Very pleasant workman to deal with and helped sort out another small problem on the side.

If a highly skills tradesman who is reliable, friendly, affordable and trustworthy is what you are looking for, then look no further! We contacted Darren with regards to some work that we needed doing to our house. We found him extremely polite and friendly and he responded very quickly. Communication from Darren is amazing. He was in regular contact with us about items he was awaiting delivery on and when he would expect to be able to come and continue with the work being done. We have used him for bathroom fitting, plastering, changing our external facias, laminate floor beading and many more handy jobs around the house. He even offered his help and advise to fix our BBQ! He is a perfectionist and will make sure that the job is done to the best possible finish it can be. He offers his professional opinion and will give advise that will ensure the best finish. He is very hard working and will get the job done with no time wasting. His prices are very competitive and extremely reasonable for the quality of the work he does. We really cannot recommend him more!

I had a condensation problem in two of the bedrooms Darren installed passyfier vents in both rooms and replastered the problem walls with a waterproof render. This has dealt with the situation and the rooms are back to normal. Darren is a reliable and trustworthy tradesman with many years experience in all plastering aspects and damp proofing work. Excellent workmanship, very clean and tidy with competitive prices to offer.

Darren was recommended to me through a friend and I was delighted with his work. We had a leak in the bathroom which another builder had been unable to locate. Darren located and fixed it immediately and then re-plastered and tiled the entire bathroom. He has also tiled my hallway floor, which was a tricky job due to the dimensions and layout. His attention to detail is fantastic, he was clean and tidy and I would have no hesitation using again or recommending to others.
