We have recently had a complete kitchen refurbishment by James and his team at Cruz Kitchens and are delighted with the result. From planning and through all stages of the fitting and decorating, they were professional and patient, delivering a high quality service at a competitive price.

It is three years since James replaced one-third of my U-shaped kitchen; details in review number 28 (KS 06 22). On 26 March 2025 he visited to measure and suggest designs for the two 3-metre "arms" of the U. His two-page detailed quotation arrived on 02 April. No deadline was set for installation and I suggested sometime in the summer. He rang on 02 June to suggest a start on 15 July. James visited on 23 June to check measurements and worktop finish. A skip arrived on 14 July and James, with colleague Mike, removed the old cabinets and worktops in a morning's work next day. Their decades of experience in installing kitchens is visible in all their work. A working day starts about 0730 and James advised if that changed using text messages or verbally before leaving each afternoon. A decision to replace more than two square metres of wall tiles was made early in the work. The new tiling, with complementary grouting and James's customary attention to the smallest detail, has produced a splendid light-reflecting result. A 2-metre run of four units 2.2 metres tall includes one as a pantry with two sets of six metal storage racks. James and Mike updated the covers on four electric sockets and connections for the gas cooker. Throughout the eight days they were on site, James and Mike were a pleasure to have in my home. I was on site throughout and had regular updates on progress. Once again James has exceeded my expectations. I have no hesitation in recommending Cruz Kitchens for the quality of materials, attention to detail and craftsmanship.

James kept us up to date all along the way, with photos included at the end of each week, as we had moved out to enable unhindered work for them.
Made to measure units meant that I could have exactly which cupboards, drawers and items I wanted. We don't have a huge kitchen but it was completely gutted, rewired, re-plumbed, decorated from top to bottom. We also had new tiles of our own choice and new floor covering. I've got far more in my kitchen now than I had before! Well done everyone! I am so pleased to recommend James and his team from Cruz Kitchens in Reading. No disappointment here, I can assure you.

The job included stripping of the old kitchen, fixing of walls, ceiling, new electrics, etc. all done to a very high standard and within the stated time-frame (< 4 weeks) and a reasonable budget. James was very prepared to spend time exploring options for a complete strip-down and rebuild of our kitchen, a project which he planned, executed and project-managed very professionally. He was hands-on for much of the work, while liaising very closely with local specialist tradespeople where necessary, ensuring a very high standard of finish. The work was completed over a 3-4 week period almost exactly as timetabled in advance, and undertaken in a very considerate, punctual and tidy manner. We had not heard of Cruz Kitchens until I was talking to a friend and someone over heard me saying we wanted a new kitchen. A stranger explained to me they had used a company from Woodley called ‘Cruz kitchens’ and he was really pleased and showed us photos of the work they had completed on his house. Already having a large kitchen company in mind, a bit wary of using unknown solo companies we contacted Cruz Kitchens following this strangers advise due to how pleased he seemed. We couldn’t have been more pleased from start to finish. We met with Cruz kitchens and explained we had some idea of what we wanted but not 100%. We were shown photos of previous projects from their work and given ideas and guidance of what would work well in our home. Everything went smoothly from the first meeting and emails were all replied to in a good time frame. No question was to silly to be answered. There was never any pressure to make quick decisions or choose things we weren’t happy with. We were given a 4 week time frame from the start of the project to finish. This was kept to. We had the kitchen taken out and flooring removed. Walls painted and plastered. Kitchen installed including new sink, flooring and all new appliances installed. They kept us updated with when any deliveries would be delivered and we ensured they had plenty of room to store anything they needed. They left no mess and were friendly when we spoke to the workers. We felt comfortable with leaving them in our home to complete the kitchen throughout the working days. We are so pleased with the outcome and the colours of the kitchen. It all seems to have gone well together. The kitchen feels a lot lighter and like a new kitchen now and we would like to thank Cruz kitchens for all their hard work and taking on the job. We would not hesitate to pass on your details to others. Thank you

Cruz kitchens designed and installed a kitchen for us two years ago and we are very pleased with the results. The company director is extremely experienced and the other team members committed and competent. There was no cutting corners and gas pipes and electrics were checked before work started. There was attention to detail, making the design work in our space. Aftercare is also impressive: we had a problem with one of the taps 18 months after completion and the director got in touch immediately to resolve the problem. Could not recommend them more!

We are very sceptical of anyone getting a 5 Star rating, but after using Cruz Kitchens Ltd for a complete kitchen refurbishment, including design, strip out of the old and installation of the new, we have no problems at all awarding James and Cruz Kitchens Ltd 5 stars ourselves. James helped and advised with the initial design and planning, and together with his team completely stripped out the old kitchen, renewed the electrics, ceiling and flooring, and installed the chosen kitchen as per our choice and design. All the work was carried out to a very high standard and James's team were professional, polite and respectful at all times. The work was carried out within the stated time-frame and within the agreed budget. It is a very high quality kitchen and we have no hesitation in recommending Cruz Kitchens.

A very personable service from start to finish. Kitchen is designed with a personal visit from James to understand your requirements and measure up. This was then followed up with a 3D presentation at his studio. All aligned to the our requirements, running through the materials and design touches. Fitting of the kitchen was excellent through Louis and Connor. A fabulous team. It can be quite daunting giving over the main function room of your home but James and this team project manage the whole thing, planning in electrics, plumbing and other contractors, across the project. Exactly what I'd would want. Don't let other kitchen designers and fitters fool you, you are on your own with them. With Cruz Kitchens, then have you at the front of mind for the whole project!

Help and advice when making decisions on cupboards and appliances etc was always available.  Everyone involved in its transformation from fitters to painters worked expertly and cheerfully ensuring quality at all times   … attention to detail was paramount. James and his team completed a very good total kitchen renovation. His advice during design and installation was most useful and enabled live improvements. There was a major unforeseen problem just before installation commenced but James worked through this to minimise delays. James single-handedly worked on the project to replace one third of my kitchen. That third comprises the sink, washing machine, dishwasher, cupboards and drawers; a straight run of 2.95 metres. Throughout he explained his decisions and what he was doing. When not on site he kept in touch by telephone, text and email. A most important element of the project was to provide easy access to power sockets for the washing machine and dishwasher. The plumbing to both machines was difficult to reach and the isolating valves to the kitchen sink's taps were unreachable. After James' first visit he submitted a detailed quotation and a drawing of what he planned. An invitation to visit his studio allowed me to see a wide selection of worktop surfaces, finishes for the cupboard and drawer fronts, and taps. James' meticulous attention to detail shows in the neat work he did on the plumbing and electrics which are now readily accessible. His precision cutting and fitting is evident throughout. My home was left clean and tidy. All of the old units he removed were cleared from the site. In due course I shall be asking James to work on replacing the other two thirds of my kitchen. Meanwhile I can unreservedly recommend Cruz Kitchens Ltd.

Whilst the kitchen was being redone, they made sure that we had a temporary kitchen station for light cooking.
