Richard Joy re-roofed a small extension to my kitchen which had been constructed in 1980 and had developed a leak in one corner. His quote was higher than others I had requested but he had told me he was not the cheapest but was the best.
His firm carried out the work quickly and to a high standard.
I subsequently asked him to look at another property and was pleased and impressed when he told me it was in no need of attention. If it eventually does need work I will ask Richard Joy to carry out the works.

When Richard came to quote at the beginning of September this year, we immediately had confidence in the way he reviewed the job (finding things that needed to be put right, which other roofers had not mentioned). His quote was also realistic (unlike some we had received).
An added cause for concern was that, with no side entrance to the back of our house, absolutely everything (their equipment, old roofing/gravel, new roofing etc) had to come through the house!
Richard arrived with his son (they make a great team), as arranged, early Monday morning. From the minute they arrived, we felt that our confidence in him had been well-placed. The greatest care was taken from beginning to end to ensure minimal mess in the house as they brought everything in and out (some dust/dirt was of course inevitable under the circumstances but we could never have anticipated so little). Inevitably, the patio looked like a disaster was happening while they were working but, when they left, it was almost as if nothing had happened - their attention to detail in those areas also increased our confidence in their attention to detail in the work they had carried out.
The two roofs were completed by early afternoon on Tuesday (they work fast but efficiently and effectively) and look great. We have had a tremendous amount of work done on the house over the 36 years we have lived here (both good and bad!) so are very sceptical when seeking to employ an unknown contractor and not easily impressed but Richard and his son really impressed us.
Obviously, the work has only been completed for about a month but we have no reason to believe that the quality and endurance of the roofing work done will not prove to be as good as the attitude of the two considerate men, who carried it out.

He and his son arrived on time every day worked hard until dusk, and cleared up at the end of the job. I would recommend them to anyone. "O WHAT A JOY" .
