We recently worked with Jon Hughes on the redesign of the ground floor of our house, and the experience was positive. Although the change in the footprint was relatively small, the impact of the new layout has been significant. All of our visitors have comment on how well the space works now. Jon supported us through planning, building regulations, and the tender pack. Going into detail early on - lighting, sockets, flooring etc. - meant we received more accurate quotes and avoided having to make rushed decisions during the build. He listened carefully to our ideas and made sure they were reflected in the design, while also offering good suggestions that improved the final outcome. When the initial estimates came back higher than we’d hoped, he took the time to rework the plans to bring costs down. The savings were significant, and it was the design that we went ahead with. Jon provided a shortlist of builders, and the one we chose turned out to be an ideal fit. Throughout the project, he was transparent about the costs of each stage - design, tender packs, and so on. We’re very happy with the result and would recommend Jon to anyone looking for a collaborative and detail - focused architect.

Jonathan did an excellent job on helping us through an extension/renovation project from start to finish. This was important to us because we had no experience with the building industry. The design was discussed extensively, options were considered, interesting suggestions were made using 3D software, and many modifications were made to satisfy our wishes. The planning permission went very smoothly, and builders were suggested for quotations. The latter was an important step because 3Dr architects only suggests builders they have good experience with. We also asked Jonathan to oversee the building process and help with choices to be made. All went very smoothly. In summary, we are happy with the result, and can certainly recommend Jonathan (3Dr Architects).

Jon was exactly what we needed when planning our conversion/renovation/extension project. He listened carefully to us as we described what we needed from the project, what outcomes we hoped for and the styling we wanted to achieve. He was able to present us with options and helped us to visualise clearly what the end result would be. Importantly, he didn't try to impose a 'vision' on us but, at the same time, gave us plenty of ideas that we hadn't considered. The final result is a home that we love, that we're proud of, and which suits our family in every respect. A job very well done. We would highly recommend Jon to anyone.

Jon had great insight into what I wanted. I had already drawn up a few sketches of what I wanted after which he did a thorough survey of the whole property & advised me on the procedure to gain Planning permission, we had a few meetings after to finalise the design. Planning permission was granted without a hitch, Jon had detailed the whole extension beautifully, even the Bricklayer commented on how accurate his drawings were. Jon also drew up a Party Wall Agreement & liaised with the Building Control Consultant for me, he was always on hand to help & explain. I would not hesitate in recommending 3drArchitects. I felt confident & assured of Jon’s designs & advice getting the required permissions & Planning Consent.

Our project consisted of a garage conversion and a dormer extension. Jon from 3drArchitects picked up straight away, listened carefully to what we wanted and quickly provided the drawings, helped with the planning permission application, building reg etc We were grateful for his advice and prompt assistance at all times before and during the project. Great job in helping me through the design and planning of the extension to my home paying particular attention to the requirement I needed.
