Martin is professional, personable and really easy to talk to; he was able to give us some excellent advice and helped us choose suitable fabrics. We took samples home to 'live with' for a couple of days before ordering - with no pressure whatsoever from Martin.
His workmanship is superb, the fabrics are fabulous, new seat pads, plumped back cushions and he even did our footstool and replaced the broken board in it!! Our sofas look better now than they did when we brought them 12 years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Martin for any re-upholstery needs. Thank you!

A first class company, Martin has re-upholstered our settee and chairs twice together with four dining chairs, four cane seat covers, a conservatory settee and bay window seats many times. Always quick and good quality workmanship.

Prompt response to our initial enquiry. Great advice, patient, interested & friendly.
Excellent craftsmanship & pricing. We are delighted with Martin’s work & have bought furniture requiring refurbishment on the basis that we know we have a superb upholsterer on our doorstep.
We can’t rate him highly enough!

I have an HSL swivel recliner chair, in which the springs broke across the bottom of the seat seat. This caused an unfortunate sag and made the chair unusable. HSL were not interested in repairing it but Martin (The "Son" of Gordon Smith & Son) was happy to try, even though it was quite an awkward job. He collected my chair on Wednesday and returned it, fixed, on Thursday. For a very reasonable price. A thoroughly pleasant gentleman to deal with, I am extremely happy with the work and service. Thank you Martin, ten out of ten!
