Absolutely delighted with the incredible restoration work Ian of Furniture Restoration & French Polishing has just completed for me. The piece of furniture is over 100 years old and travelled all the way from South Africa, hence it was looking a little tired and unloved, but Ian has brought it back to life beautifully. He spent hours treating the wood and ironwork, repairing loose joints, and giving it the care and craftsmanship it deserved. His attention to detail is outstanding and he genuinely takes pride in every part of the process. If you have any furniture or even staircases that need restoring, I couldn’t recommend Ian highly enough.

Ian restored an Edwardian Music Stool for us. It had been in the family for many years and was in a poor state, missing a base and a stay for the hinged seat. Ian did an excellent job. He took a lot of trouble over sourcing the items needed for these repairs and then brought the item back to life with polishing. We are delighted with the result! Would highly recommend.

Our furniture is not antique and I wondered whether Ian would still be interested in restoring it. I need not have worried. Several pieces have become scratched and water damaged over the years and looked generally a bit scruffy. After 2 days of hard work I am delighted to say they look like new again. Ian is a real perfectionist and a true craftsman and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

We own an old house, which was built in 1922, and our downstairs hallway, stairs and landing were decorated in Linocrust/wood panels. Around 25 years ago these areas were repaired by a craftsman whose expertise was in wood graining. We researched our options to repairs these three areas and found Ian Foxall. He has carried out a magnificent restoration of our house and we can highly recommend him and the quality of his work.

We have owned an oak family dining table for 20 years - it has been subject to a lot of day to day usage in that time. I asked Ian if he could do something with it. "Looking like new" is a cliche but that's how Ian left it after 3 days of concentrated stripping, rubbing, varnishing and waxing. Just a fantastic job which far exceeded my expectations of what was possible.
