We had an old leaky roof with tiles that were difficult to replace. Previous attempts hadn't worked but Ian was able to repair the leaks which gave us the confidence to replace the entire roof. Ian did a careful assessment and gave us a reasonable quote. He also suggested a structural survey that really helped. He was clear about taking up one major job at a time and gave us a realistic schedule which he stood by. Ian is disciplined about his work, open about discussing issues or considering suggestions and delivers to a very high standard - all done with good humour. We are extremely happy with the outcome and would strongly recommend Ian to anyone looking for quality roof work.

Been struggling with a roof leak during heavy rainfall. Rang Purple Dot late on Friday and came Saturday morning. Found broken tile straight away and fixed it within the hour! Excellent service and will definitely be using again.

Had a roof leak a week ago, and the first roofer I contacted said he would replace the lead flashing for £650. He didn’t even go up on the roof to investigate the source of the leak. I called Ian Shailer at the weekend, having read his reviews, and he was kind enough to call back the same day. When he came round on Monday, he went up on the roof and straight away found a broken tile. He said he had some spares to match at home and offered to do the job there and then at a very reasonable price. It turned out to be a small repair job, and Ian didn’t inflate it. He even cleared away an old wasp nest while he was at it. I was very pleased with Ian’s honest approach and he is clearly very experienced. Just what you need when rain’s coming into your house! I will recommend him to all my friends.

Had a few loose tiles. Ian came and had a look and came the next day to fix them. He gave a great price and did a fantastic job. He was polite and talked me through every aspect of the project. I can recommend Ian 100%

Ian replaced my flat fibreglass extension roof (only 4 years old) !, with a new felt one. He was punctual, friendly and tidied up afterwards - did exactly what he said he would and now have a dry living room. - Would definitely use his services again.

Ian came out to replace a tile that came off the roof during the bad weather recently. He was very genuine, professional, friendly and very reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone and will be using him again in the future for any roofing requirements.

We have just had Ian Shailer and Sam replace the felt on our double garage roof, which was leaking. At the same time, we asked them to replace the old wooden fascias and soffits with uPVC, and replace the old guttering too. We had three estimates and chose Ian because we judged he would do the best job. It was a big job that needed some carpentry to fix the new fascias, and they also found two rotten wooden boards in the roof which they replaced. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and the job they did certainly met my expectations. They also replaced a few cracked tiles to deal with a small leak in the house roof, and also repointed some cracked mortar in the garage wall. Overall, we were very impressed with their work and they are nice people too!

Fantastic job done by Ian Shailer!!!, a friendly and very polite person, came to see what it needed to be repaired, took pictures, explained what it needs to be done, sent a quote with details by email, job done and came back a few days after to collect something left to protect the roof. Ian repaired a leak in our roof. He was extremely diligent in getting to the source of the issue (not content with speculatively patching it up) and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Would highly recommend him as a trades person you can trust to get the job done.

Ian the owner of Purple Dot Roofing replaced our tiled roof valley with a GRP one. The old one had a tendency to hold loose pieces of moss whereas the new one from what I have seen elsewhere doesn't. Ok the moss falls into the gutter but at least it can be cleaned out. It looks smart. Ian worked tirelessly on one of the hottest days this year and the finished job looks great. Expecting a big storm tomorrow so that will be a good test. Ian cleared up after, left no mess and is very polite. Would recommend him without hesitation.

I have no hesitation in recommending Purple Dot Roofing. I wanted my soffits, fascias, guttering and some cladding replaced on quite a large house. I was impressed with the way Ian Shailer measured up the work before submitting his quote, against two other firms who simply looked at the house and took some photographs. Ian's quote was not quite the lowest but I engaged him because of his initial professional assessment. He stripped off the old wood, unlike some firms who I understand simply fit the new cladding on top of the old. Everything he did was carefully measured, levelled and fitted. He worked long and hard to complete the job to a very high standard. My wife and I are very pleased with the final result. Strongly recommended.

Ian recently replaced the flat roof on our downstairs bathroom. He was very friendly, efficient and worked really hard getting the job done quickly and we are really happy with the standard of work. We were so impressed that we also asked him to fit a peak over our front door which he was able to do easily and quickly. I’d recommend him to anyone.

Very pleased with work to our roof by Purple Dot Roofing. We found we had a damp patch on our landing ceiling. Ian came and identified where the water was coming in and within a couple days returned to fix it. I recently had problems with water damage to a bathroom ceiling. Ian Shailer called to our property and found there to be a damaged roof tile and baton which was rotten and had caused the water to leak in. He was very polite and friendly honest in his opinions of the work needed to be done. He fixed the new tile and baton and I would certainly recommend him to others and his honest approach to pricing.
